Description of data sources
ATS_NR_2P-EUR
GHRSST AATSR L2P data is provided as one per orbit, fully featured L2P format compliant file with GDS version 1.5. Coverage is global, although the product includes on only dual view observations of SST and relies on very sensitive operational cloud clearing algorithms, resulting in a lower than expected number of observations. It should be noted however that an extremely high proportion of AATSR observations of SST are of high quality. AATSR data is the only skin SST product in the HR-DDS. These data are provided through the Medspiration Project.
SEVIRI_SST-EUR
GHRSST SEVIRI L2P data is provided on a regular map cylindrical projection, once every three hours and on a degraded 0.1 degree spatial resolution. The product is fully featured L2P compliant with GDS version 1.5. Coverage is restricted to between 60°N and 60°S, 60°W and 45°E. Data quality is very good, but SEVIRI SSTs are known to be degraded by Saharan aerosols. These data are provided through the Medspiration Project.
